Sam Alexander

Sam has been involved with El Grupo for over a decade. As a team rider from 2013 to 2017, Sam raced for 4 years, even placing 4th overall in the NICA high school MTB league in 2016.

After high school, Sam shifted from racer to full-time commuter and graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelors in Photography, Video, and Imagery. During college, Sam worked with coaching the up and coming bike packing program along side the yearly summer bike camp! 

In 2021, Sam was hired to the coaching staff of Grupito, and in 2023 officially launched the Uno a Uno program, providing riders with 1:1 coaching! 

With years of experience over a variety of rides, Sam strives to push the next generation of riders to be safe on the street and to ‘Be Your Own Rider’!
